It was last second heartbreak for Ashville on Saturday afternoon as they fell to a 2-1 comeback loss to ten man Stockport Georgians at Ray Parker Stadium

Despite a flurry of chances in the first half the score remained deadlocked at the break but the half wasn’t without its drama. With just under half an hour played a Lewis Moynes through ball for Peter Morgan looked to of been over hit but Georgians defender Kyle Lambert didn’t deal with the danger and Morgan was quick enough to beat Lambert to the ball. In his desperate attempt to prevent a goal Lambert pulled Morgan down on the edge of the area and as the last man was duly sent for an early shower.

Ashville took the lead just 3 minutes after the break when a corner slipped through the hands of Morgan Piper and onto the head of Mark Madden at the back post who headed in for his 12th goal of the season.

Villa were left to rue a handful of missed chances in the 68th minute when Lucas Berry rifled home an equaliser on the counter.

The home side petered out somewhat during the remainder of the game and paid the price with the last kick of the game as Kyle Wych danced through the defence before slotting calmly past Cowderoy.

The defeat is less than ideal preparation for an Ashville side who next travel to Stafford Town in the Edward Case Cup semi final this weekend
