Ashville Football Club is saddened to announce that Peter Reynolds has resigned from his position as Chairman with immediate effect.
Peter submitted his letter of resignation at the clubs AGM last night (June 20th 2024). The club committee reluctantly accepted Peter’s resignation and will now begin the process of finding Peter’s successor. In the interim, Vice-Chairman Ray Reid will step up into the role of Chairman until a new Chairperson is appointed by the committee.
Peter Reynolds first took the reins 13 years ago and in that time has seen the club progress all the way from the West Cheshire League 2nd Division to the North West Counties Football League 1st Division South.
Peter has said of his time at Ashville; “I have greatly enjoyed my time at Ashville Football Club and I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences I have had here”. Peter, or ‘Renno’ as he’s affectionately known around the club, also touched on the good position the club is in financially and the recruitment of Steven Scott as First Team Manager saying of the latter “Ste Scott has been brought in to run the football side of the club which is great. He will also be improving the pathway for the youth which will be great for the club plus he’s just a top top lad”.
“I would like to thank John Dennett, Ray Reid, Lynn Kennedy, the committee and every sponsor, player, coach/manager, volunteer and supporter for all the support during my time at the club, it really means a lot to me”.
Everyone at Ashville Football Club would like to place on record our immense gratitude to Peter for all the incredible work he has put in to take this football club as far as he has in the last 13 years, including making history by being the first chairman to oversee Ashville’s ascendancy to the North West Counties Football League. Thank you for the memories Peter Reynolds and everyone connected to Ashville Football Club wishes you nothing but the absolute best in your future endeavours.
The committee is now in the process of appointing Peter’s successor and an announcement on this matter will be made once the entire formal process has taken place and a new Chairperson has been voted in by the committee
