Ashville Football Club can this evening confirm the signing of midfielder, Tom Hewlett.

The former Everton & Liverpool youngster featured in our pre-season friendly draw against Pilkington at the weekend and after an impressive cameo he finds himself at Ray Parker Stadium for good. Previously, the 25 year old has spent time with Marine’s Under 23’s before spells at Ashton Town & Bootle SE. Hewlett was most recently at AFC Knowsley where he walked away with last seasons Players’ Player Of The Year & Managers’ Player Of The Year Awards.

Hewlett is another of our summer signings that has previously played under Ste Scott & Glynn Hurst and he didn’t hesitate at the chance to play for them again: “I’ve played under the management team before under both Ste & Glynn and they get the best out of me and playing to the standards required for counties football”.

But it wasn’t just the management team that led to his decision to join Ashville: “It’s a very welcoming club, the lads made me feel right at home as soon as I walked in. The club has a lot of history around it which I love, it feels like a special place to be”.

Hewlett also expressed his excitement of playing in front of his new fans stating: I can’t wait to get started and walk out in front of our crowd for the first time. It will be a special feeling. I just want to get started and help the club go as high as we possibly can”.
