Ashville Football Club can tonight confirm the signing of Sam McNeill from Ellesmere Port Town FC.
The 19 year old midfielder from Chester is a product of the Steven Gerrard Academy (SGA) and has also spent time at Vauxhall Motors as a youth player, even winning a treble whilst with the Motors. McNeill was named Player’s Player Of The Tournament during his time at SGA when they travelled to Barcelona for the MIC Cup.
McNeill makes the journey up the M53 after being impressed by what he has seen and heard from the Wallasey based club over the summer saying: “I was attracted to Ashville because of the good quality of the lads and Staff around me who help me get better each week. They have high ambitions and goals this season and I want to be a part of it”.
The young midfielder has certainly been left impressed during his time training with the club prior to signing, having this to say on his new club: “My first impressions of Ashville is that it’s a very competitive environment and the staff push you to become better week in, week out. The lads have been so welcoming and friendly and will fight for each other on the pitch no matter what. There’s a great team spirit”.
Sam is looking forward to showing what he’s got to offer at Ashville and to playing under his new management team: “I’m really looking forward to playing under Ste & Glynn. I will give everything I have for this club and these great fans”.
McNeill will be hoping to make his debut this weekend as Villa face two games in three days as they welcome Foley Meir back to Ray Parker Stadium on Saturday before travelling to Cheadle Heath Nomads on Monday evening.
