The points were shared in Staffordshire despite a dominant Ashville performance.

Promotion rivals Ashville and Alsager played out a lively draw in Staffordshire in a result where yet another late goal bit the away side.

The opening 10 minutes were an even affair but the home side should have been down to ten men after 12 minutes when Lewis Moynes was wiped out by the last man when clear through on goal. Villa didn’t even get a free kick…

Moynes would prove to be a thorn in Alsager’s side all game long with a string of one on one chances but every time he was foiled by the excellency of Jordan Latham in the Alsager goal.

The home side had chances of their own, two guilt edge chances in the first half saw them fire wide when it was harder to miss than score.

Despite chances galore in the second half it took Ashville until the 84th minute to finally take the lead when Connor Courtnell squeezed his header into the bottom corner from a corner kick.

It was just reward for Ashville who dominated an end to end game up to that point. 

Alsager tried desperately to snatch a point and succeeded when Ryan Rogers headed in from a 92nd minute corner to break Villa hearts.

Ashville now turn their attention to the first of only 4 home games remaining this season when they welcome Stockport Georgians to Ray Parker Stadium on January 4th in a 3pm kick off.
