Ashville returned to winning ways with a comprehensive victory over Allscott Heath at Ray Parker Stadium on Valentine’s weekend

Villa got off the mark early when Mark Madden calmly slotted past Ashley Spittlehouse on the 10 minute mark

The remainder of the first half passed by without any incidents of note with a cagey affair producing little to no chances for either side

Villa started the second half the much stronger side and chances for Shearwood and Madden steered narrowly wide of the post before Allscott grabbed an equaliser against the run of play on 53 minutes. A good through ball found Ben Davies who lashed his effort home into the bottom corner

Villa would have the lead again just 3 minutes later when Jack Colburn rifled a half volley in at the near post to mark his first senior goal for Ashville

It would take only 6 minutes for Villa to increase their lead to 3-1. A scramble in the box saw the ball fall to Madden who cleverly created space for a shot before smartly getting the better of Spittlehouse once again

Ashville would continue to pile on the pressure and second half substitute Tom Hewlett was denied by a smart low save from Spittlehouse with just over 15 minutes to go

Despite being comfortably in control another goal against the run of play for the visitors set up an enthralling final ten minutes. A well worked move up the pitch was once again finished with a rifled strike by Ben Davies to give Allscott hope of snatching a late point

That hope would only last a couple of minutes however as Ashville put the game beyond the visitors when a low half volley from Brad Shearwood somehow slipped under Spittlehouse in a moment the Allscott keeper will want to forget

The win puts Villa 6 points outside of the playoffs with two games in hand on those directly above them. The Wallasey based outfit will next travel to Barnton on Saturday 22nd February looking to build on a fantastic record away from home which has seen Ashville lose only 3 times on the road in all competitions this season with only one of those defeats coming in the league. Kick off for the game at Barnton will be at 3pm with the game held at the Creative Hut Stadium
