Ashville scored a last gasp equaliser at Barnton to extend their unbeaten run to 5 games as the hunt for a play off berth heats up

The first half was certainly nothing to write home about as both sides nullified one another on an energy draining playing surface

The game was a bit more open in the second half as an improved Barnton side saw two excellent headers denied by even better saves from Richard Cowderoy worthy of being in the save of the season competition

It would be the home side who took the lead when Bafude Djabi caught Adam Sunners in possession before passing to substitute George Edwards who gave Cowderoy no chance as he smashed the ball high into the goal

Into the final 10 minutes Villa stepped up a gear in search of an equaliser with Peter Morgan seeing a couple of chances come close including a one on one opportunity as the game ticked into the 90th minute which was saved by Max Beddow who also got a vital touch on Joel Kelly’s rebound

Kelly would have the last laugh however when the resulting corner was spilled by Beddow to a waiting Kelly on the goal line who poked the ball home for an injury time equaliser

A solid point on the road for Ashville who next travel to title chasing Stafford Town on Tuesday evening in what many consider to be a dress rehearsal for next months Edward Case Cup semi final
